1970
- "Practical Japanese-English Dictionary" Published
- After the completion of "Practical Japanese Conversation", AOTS produced subtexts in various languages as teaching aids. In the meantime, instructors at the Kansai Kenshu Center led efforts to compile a Japanese dictionary. The "Practical Japanese-English Dictionary" was received favourably by not only AOTS trainees but also beginner level learners of the Japanese language.
- Chubu Kenshu Center Opened (October)
- AOTS opened the Chubu Kenshu Center in Nagakute village upon the request of host companies in the Chukyo region. The center accommodated up to 60 trainees at the time (the present new Chubu Kenshu Center accommodates up to 200 trainees).

- "AOTS Ten Years' History" Published
- The 2nd Convention of ABK Alumni Societies
- Bangkok Office Opened
- AOTS opened an office in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. AOTS accepted the third biggest number of trainees from Thailand, following China (Taiwan) and South Korea at the time. Its Bangkok Office provided a pre-training orientation course to trainees and conducted follow-up activities for ex-trainees.
1971
- Mexico-Japan Exchange Training Program Started (~1983)
- The program exchanged trainees and students between Japan and Mexico based on the idea of the then Mexican President Luis Echeverria. AOTS accepted 500 Mexican trainees by FY1983 under the program.
1972
- Japan-Thailand Economic Cooperation Society Founded
- The Japan-Thailand Economic Cooperation Society was founded with the cooperation of AOTS and the Asian Students Cultural Association with a view to growing out of unilateral aids under the Japanese initiative and respecting the autonomy of the partner country when providing cooperation.
- "NIHONGO NO KISO (Basics of Japanese)" Published
- As part of its effort to improve the efficiency of Japanese language education, AOTS organized curriculum and developed textbooks and teaching materials. As a result, the "Practical Japanese Conversation" was revised and published under the title of the "NIHONGO NO KISO (Basics of Japanese)". The "Basics of Japanese" was based on AOTS' past experience of Japanese language training, and led to creation of the "NIHONGO NO KISO I(Basics of Japanese I)" later.
1973
- The 3rd Convention of ABK Alumni Societies
- Overseas Correspondence Program Started (~2000)
- The concept of efficient technical cooperation through a correspondence program was conceived. For technology requiring high knowledge, AOTS provided technical information in the form of printed material and sent instructors to teach trainees directly. The correspondence program was later replaced by production control training, etc. About 27,000 trainees participated in the program by 2000.
1974
- APO Training Program Started (~2001)
- This program was provided under a partnership with an international organization following the UNIDO Training Program. The program included computer-based production control training and accepted about 879 trainees before its termination in 2001.
1977
- The 4th ABK Alumni Societies Convention
- Management Training Course, Training Program in Japan Started (The name changed from MMTC to PCCM later)
- Among AOTS's Management Training Programs, the Program for Cross-Cultural Management (PCCM) was the first management training course planned and implemented by AOTS as a grant-aided project. PCCM was followed by AOTS's flagship courses such as the Production Management Training Course (PMTC) and the Quality Control Training Course (QCTC).
- Overseas Training Program Started
- AOTS's first overseas training was auto maintenance technology training in the Philippines. The Overseas Training Programs are available today. Not only technical training but also management technology training are available under the programs.
